While the Nadir is in the winter shipyard to be prepared for next year’s missions and the year is slowly coming to an end, we are looking back on our last mission in 2024. In order to continue our active emergency aid for refugees in distress at sea in the coming year, we are still dependent on support. At Christmas time, we are once again offering the wonderful opportunity to make a gift of donations for the Nadir missions. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Crew 10<\/span><\/i> : Between the Albania deal and illegal pullbacks<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

In three intensive weeks on the water, the crew of the Nadir witnessed an illegal pullback by the so-called Libyan coastguard as well as the first implementation of the anti-human Albania deal and was able to assist several boats in distress. On November 12, our crew was informed by the NGO Alarmphone about a distress at sea in Maltese waters. Unfortunately, they reached the position too late and could only <\/span> The so-called Libyan coastguard could still be seen sailing away on the horizon. The Nadir crew searched the area around the abandoned boat to make sure that no one had jumped into the water to escape the dire consequences of a pullback to Libya: Detention in violation of basic human rights, violence or even illegal deportation to the Libyan desert. Despite this frustrating case, the crew of the last mission was able to support 153 people on four boats. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
