Berlin, 4th \u2013 6th July <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RESQSHIP is co-organizer of the anti-racist <strong><em data-start=\"187\" data-end=\"207\">Scirocco Festival<\/em><\/strong> in Berlin! Together with the cultural-political initiative <em data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"283\">Open Dreams<\/em>, which was founded by people with their own migration experience, we are creating a space for exchange, resistance and visions beyond the existing border regime. <\/p>\n<p>Almost exactly 10 years ago people on the move, many from Syria, started to walk on the highways from Hungary towards Germany. Their direct, spontaneous action forced open the closed internal borders of Fortress Europe. <\/p>\n<p>We remember and take inspiration from that event. The <strong>Scirocco Festival<\/strong> encourages defiance, it presents practical \u201ctoolkit of resistance\u201d to oppose racist and discriminatory practices inside the border regime, such as camps and deportations.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Scirocco<\/strong> refuses the normalization of violence against people without the \u201cright\u201d papers. It opens a space to envision alternatives radically different to the present where we live, and by doing so it projects a different political horizon. Let\u2019s think together and connect with each other to resist border violence!  <\/p>\n<p>And, by the way\u2026 you may wonder, why Scirocco? A warm wind blowing from the South in the central Mediterranean sea, facilitating dangerous sea-crossings.
